What began as a social club for mountain climbing enthusiasts with an oddball sense of community, Marmot founders Eric Reynolds and Dave Huntley started producing parkas and sleeping bags in their U.C. Santa Cruz dorm room, and soon after launched Marmot Mountain Works. Today, Marmot produces innovative mountain gear near the sea for mountain-loving misfits and free-thinking skiers, climbers and campers who value fun in the outdoors in the spirit of community and inclusivity while remaining true to their miss-fit origins.
