Our time might be spent differently these days. This doesn’t mean we can’t learn to embrace the beauty and art of slowing down. Club nights have been replaced by perfecting bread and catching up on films we’ve been meaning to watch. The days pass with books and a deeper understanding. LVR caught up with one of our favorite style muses, Alizée Gamberini. The model-turned It girl keeps us constantly curious.

Exhuming that effortlessly cool Parisian chic attitude, she seems to pull off any outfit and spends her day in her apartment with a stylish ease while sharing it with us on Instagram. Find out more about Alizée’s favorite spaces at home, what she’s listening to, and how this experience has changed her.

Where are you currently?
I am in Paris currently, I have the chance to live in a place I really love so I decided to stay here for work. It wasn’t an easy choice to stay in Paris because I am originally from South of France, all my family is there, I am living in Paris for only 3 years now, so I knew I had the possibility to stay in the countryside instead of the city but my life is here now, my boyfriend and work too.

What is your favorite space in your house?
My favorite space in my apartment is definitely my double living room. I have to be honest it is not totally done because I am the kind of girl who is choosing very carefully her furniture. I still need a lot of stuff like some more chairs, a cool bench, frames for my posters, or a bibliotheque. I think it’s very important to take the time to create my safe place, especially this year with all that we are going through. Home is more than ever the place where you need to feel yourself and comfortable. I like to put music and dance in my living room, I like to read a book or just overthink on my grey velvet sofa, I also like to work on my projects on my dining table.

Where would you rather be?
Honestly the only thing I want right now is to travel again very soon. So I would rather be in Brazil, my last big trip in nov 2019. This country changed my life in a way I can’t explain, I felt so happy and free when I came back to Paris. It was magical.

What’s the first thing you’ll do when this passes?
When this passes the first thing I will do is to plan a new trip. I am the kind of girl who loves travelling, it’s very important for my well being and I am not used to staying in the same country for too long. I should have been to Los Angeles, Seoul and Tokyo this year.

What are you currently inspired by?
Honestly I can be inspired by everything. Inspiration is everywhere when you are a dreamer. I don’t really know how to explain this feeling but sometimes I just think about something and a whole scenario happens in my mind, and ideas are coming in the instant.
Here I can share some of my last saved inspirations.

How will you be different after this experience? Is there anything you realized you took for granted?
I think at this point I am really able to understand what makes me happy or not. I didn’t realize as much before that my freedom was everything to me, that I was so lucky to be born in a country where civil rights were supposed to be guaranteed. Finally in a couple of months my whole life has changed and for an over thinker like me it was not easy. I will certainly enjoy my life more after this and choose precisely my priorities. I never took anything for granted. And now I am sure I will never take anything for granted. Today I feel more vulnerable than ever in this world, but also very powerful and ready to follow my dreams.

How are you spending your quarantine?
A typical quarantine day in Paris looks like I wake up at 8am and chill in my bed until 9am losing time on my phone, then I drink 2-3 coffees and clean a bit my appartement to feel good in it, I put some candles and perfume, and I also open the window to breathe some fresh air. Then I usually do my emails and work on my projects. I cook for my sister and I because now with quarantine I learn a bit how to make delicious dishes so I enjoy these moments. If I am not too lazy I go down in the streets for a little walk because we are not allowed to stay more than 1h per day outside and we can’t go further than 1km from our home so yes it’s just a little walk. As we are now almost in Winter the sun goes down at 5pm in France so the days are so short. I will be lying if I was telling you quarantine in Paris is easy. Struggling but still positive. Hope the situation will get better soon.
