Mother’s Day with Pauline - Mother-Day-Pauline -header

The International jetsetter and Life & Style blogger on celebrating Mother’s Day (twice!)

Where will we find you on Mother’s day?
I’m french but I live in Germany and therefore, I am lucky : I get two mother’s day ! in Germany it’s the 14th of May and in France it the 28th of May. For the first one, I will be at home, and the second one, we fly to the south of France for two days in Saint Tropez and then 2 days in Provence. We found two amazing hotels : I can’t wait!

Your all-time favorite memory with your kids?
My boy is only 15 months and I have already so many memories it’s really hard to tell just one! I would say his first laugh, or his first steps, but I have to go with his first real hug, with his little arms around my neck. My heart melted.

Being a mother is… a crazy adventure.

My kid is… the most amazing human on earth! (me? Biased? haha)

What is your favorite memory you shared with your own mother?
I have so many! But lately, I realize I love seeing her playing the grandmother. A few weeks ago, I went to Paris for Fashion Week and the daycare was closed (german are serious with carnival) so I was staying in a lovely hotel room with my mother baby-sitting my boy, while I was running to fashion shows and I have great memories of these few days.

How would you describe your style?
French & colorful, which is kind of a contradiction. By “french”, I mean elegant and casual at the same time.

Has it changes since you became a Mum?
It changed a bit, yes. I wear more flat shoes, and lower heels. And also, since I gain so much weight during my pregnancy, and since I don’t my body back yet (after 15 months, I’m kind of ashamed…!), I try to buy things that hide my little buddha belly and flatter my hips…

But my style has not changed that much, just the shape of my jeans (mum Jeans forever!)

How would you describe your kids style?
Colorful, because he seems to like bright colors and “boyish”. I dont’ know if that makes any sense said like that, but I like when he looks like a little boy and not a baby : jeans, mini-Converse, and a checked shirt or a nice sweater.

Your top three favorite childrenswear brands?
OEUF : I am in love with this brand which reminds me of my two years in New York : I love seeing my son playing with the cute hotdog and yellow cab. And the clothes are so cute and soft!

FILOBIO : I discovered this brand thanks to LVR and I love their designs : very simple and natural and adorable!

GUCCI : The boy collection is as amazing as the one for women, which I am also crazy about!

What are some of the challenges you have faced as a mother?
I don’t really see the mother role as challenging, I would say it’s an evolution to being the mother you are meant to be. You have to learn how to be the new you. For me, it’s been a real change. My priorities have changed, the way I see our future, I feel more conscious of the luck we have to be happy and healthy. And my happiness now depends on my kid’s happiness. My world revolves around him and that suits me fine.

What message would you like to give other mothers on this special day?
Mums run the world, take care of yourself 😉
