LUISAVIAROMA.COM presents “Sky-Line” by Marta Ferri for Molteni&C

Marta Ferri is a young Italian couturier based in Milan. The capsule collection “SKYLINE” marks her first foray into the world of interior design. Produced in collaboration with Molteni&C, the collection will be available from 12 April, exclusively at LUISAVIAROMA.COM.

Made in Italy. Inspired by New York.

With clear references to the traditions of Como silk printing, “Sky-Line” is inspired by the silhouette of New York skyscrapers. The unique print applied to some of Molteni&C’s iconic products such as the Glove chair, came to life after Marta Ferri conducted a careful research into the archives of the largest textile producers of Made in Italy. The capsule collection also marks the debut of Molteni&C into the world of ecommerce.

Sky-Line - 2

Your father is a photographer and your mother an interior decorator. In what ways did they contribute to your own creative aesthetic?

I’ve grown up absorbing everything that was around me by traveling around the world with my dad and breathing in the warm atmosphere of my mother’s homes. I’ve learned to always keep my eyes open and I see my parents’ influence in what I do. I’m grateful!

Blue Crush

You have collaborated with a number of different brands –Superga, Birkenstock. Why did you decide now was the right moment to expand into interiors?

I’ve always been interested in interiors. It is a great passion of mine but it hasn’t been a real job until now. I decorated all my homes over the years and sometimes even decided to move just to start over! It is an instinct. Fabrics in general are my obsession, especially upholstery, which I use to create my dresses. I’ve always been very close to this world and it all became very natural.

Sky-Line - 3

How would you describe your style mantra, both in terms of fashion and interior design? Are they the same or different?

I’m guided by instinct and work free from trends. I believe in customization because you can really interpret and free your real personality in a strong and beautiful way.
