Claude Trudon founded Maison Trudon when he opened up his candle shop on rue Saint-Honoré in 1643. One of the oldest candle makers in the world, they were the official supplier to the court of Louis XIV. The company survived and endured the French Revolution, Napoleon, and the introduction of electricity. Today, candles are still made by hand and the glass is hand-crafted in Tuscany.
