Founders and designers of under-the-radar New York clothing brand AREA Piotrek Panszczyk and Beckett Fogg are not your average design duo. After meeting at the esteemed Parsons School of Design, the Pole and the Kentuckian bonded over a shared love of textile development and manipulation. Launched in 2014, the brand has grown to encompass a full designer collection including evening wear, outerwear and sportswear. Entering the world of AREA feels like being immersed in a shimmery disco daydream: "we really try to portray women as goddesses and power creatures," they say. Their references are an amalgamation of club glamour through the decades: 1930s flappers, 60s mods, Studio 54 and Area (the downtown New York club whose name they appropriated for the label). With silhouettes highlighted by signature trims and textile developments, AREA has become a firm favorite among celebrities and a staple of Downtown New York culture.
