Gramicci has been making functional clothing for exploring the great outdoors since 1982. It all started in California in the 1970s, when a new generation of free-spirited rock-climbers known as the “Stonemasters” took residency at Yosemite National Park, pioneering a new way of climbing—with a strong focus on speed and style. These new methods required a new uniform, and whilst canvas painter pants and rugged army surplus gear worked up to a point, greater flexibility was needed. Over the years, Gramicci has continued to innovate and push new ideas, all the while retaining its original ethos. 40 years since the first pair of Gramicci shorts were sewn in Mike Graham’s garage, the brand’s core values remain the same: to provide hard-wearing, functional clothing, designed with movement in mind.
