In the attic of a small, terraced house in Sheffield in 1981, Rab Carrington made his first namesake sleeping bag by hand. The experience Rab garnered from years spent in the mountains was apparent in his designs, and his ingenious constructions were thereafter in high demand from both friends and the flourishing local climbing community. From there word traveled quickly and the Sheffield attic was transformed into a factory floor filling requests and creating sleeping bags and jackets for customers far and wide. Now, decades later, those honest, hard-wearing designs can be found all over the world: from Himalayan peaks to cold, crisp evenings around a campfire. Wherever adventurous individuals face up to the elements, Rab cannot only be found, but trusted for whatever nature brings.
