LuisaViaRoma has teamed up with Trine Tuxen to create Trine Tuxen x LVR, an exclusive collection designed just for LuisaViaRoma. Inspired by some of our favorite pasta shapes, Trine has added a bit of Italian whimsicality to her streamlined Danish aesthetic.

We caught up with Trine to chat about jewelry, inspiration, lifestyle, and had a bit of fun making pasta!

1. Did you always know you wanted to be a jewelry designer? What inspired you to start your brand?
I’ve always created jewelry, and small tangible things. All throughout my twenties I took classes in soldering, stone setting, etc… I’ve had a natural need to express myself emotionally and creatively. My previous career within dance/performance, had to come to an end at age 28, due to too many injuries. I was forced to change direction in life, and my close friend encouraged me to start my own jewelry business – so I did! It couldn’t have been a more perfect direction for me.

Quality, playfulness, spirituality, diversity, embracing

3.Jewelry for me is…
A way of expression.
A way of completing one’s own language.
A way to tell stories in life.
A good way to create and keep memories

4. Where or to whom do you look to for inspiration when designing your collections?
I look inwards. My collections always take their first steps from how I feel, where my mind is at, and what fascinates me or my own insecurities. My very first collection “Bullet” – that wraps around my previous career, and is sort of goodbye to dance – the collection is about movement, balance and playfulness. To my “V-collection” – the most intimate of all my collections so far – is an expression of my insecurities about my own sex.

5.First thing you do when you wake up?
I look left at my boyfriend and caress my growing belly. Thoughts of feeling blessed, thankful and a bit of anxiousness run through my head. Then I take a quick shower before my breakfast, which I prioritize and like to spend a good, solid time around home before I’m of to work.

6.Your current playlist?
Two of my friends and myself have a constant work-in-progress playlist on Spotify. It’s called Moen (a Danish island) where we celebrated my birthday in 2017. It contains more than 320 songs with artists like the Alessi Brothers, Nick Cave, Selma Judith

7. Who is the Trine Tuxen woman?
Luckily, we have come to realize that it is extremely hard to define a stereotype for Trine Tuxen Jewelry. I feel the brand offers so many directions both when we talk design and price point. We have the young and the old. The relaxed and the cool cat type. I love that my brand is this diverse and that it is possible to please most people.

8.Your favorite thing to do when you have free time?
Cook, cook, cook! I Love to visit 4-5 different grocery stores, then come home and spend hours cooking and fill up my refrigerator and pantry with dry and fresh goodies!

9.The perfect night out in Copenhagen……?
It would involve: 1) great company, 2) a bicycle ride and a swim in the harbor, 3) Grab a snack and a bubbly glass at Bar Rouge, 4) a great dinner at one of Copenhagen’s many restaurants – at this moment I’d personally choose either Mangia, Den Vandrette or Bottega Barlie and 5) lots of wine (if not pregnant).

10.What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of Denmark?
A tiny country with a loud voice, efficiency, bicycles, zero elevator talk, the canals, and sometimes too many rules…

11. What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of Italy?
Espresso, wandering eyes, laundry, food, loud, amazing talks, sprezzatura, and sunshine.

12. Favorite pasta dish?
As a vegetarian, I’m a huge fan of a well cooked puttanesca But, I have to admit that throughout my pregnancy I love everything beige (pasta, pizza, bread etc…).
