Natalie’s Guide to NYFW - natalie-suarez

Model, musician and street-style darling Natalie Suarez shares her tips and tricks to navigating NYFW.

NYFW week is… absolute insanity!

Fashion Week Survival Tip?
Drinks lots of water and keep it in your bag! You’re constantly on the go…and during September. It’s so hot during September NYFW!

How is New York style different?
In NYC anything goes. It’s more of an effortless style. Eclectic, colorful, but still down to earth and easy. Paris is a lot more sophisticated and sleek. London has a lot of grunge. And Milan is a lot more dressed up. I love NYC style.

What pieces will everyone be wearing during fashion week this season?
It’s so unpredictable. There will definitely be loads of color. Always.

What is the key to a killer outfit?
The accessories. I’m all about a statement scarf, or handbag, or shoe, or jacket.

Which shoes will you be living in this fashion week?
During NYFW days, I may go with a cool wedges. Or I’ll go for the Valentino rock stud black ballet flat. Or just a cool block heeled boot or oxford shoe. Sneakers are also amazing to dress down some more eclectic looks. Every day is different!

Which shows are you most looking forward to?
It’s fun attending all the really big shows in contrast to the smaller shows. Like Tommy Hilfiger, where they put on a huge production and you get to see all of your friends in town from around the world

The last song I shazzamed during a show was… All We Need by Odesza

If you could wear anything you want to fashion week what would it be?
A silk slip dress. I could wear that every single day. It’s so flattering and so easy to accessorize. I’m normally so busy so I can’t really plan my outfits in advance…just morning of!
