LVRSustainable and Oxfam: Women’s Empowerment Story - 1
Ph. Nana Kofi Acquah/Oxfam

LVRSustainable is proud to introduce a series of stories, as shared with us by the International NGO, Oxfam.

Our collaboration will share stories of real life women and the changes they have been empowered to achieve with the help of Oxfam and your donations.

The second real life story focuses on the success of Felicia in Ghana as she begins to provide for her family and how a power pump thanks to Oxfam has changed lives in the community. Learn more about how to donate and help.

LVRSustainable and Oxfam: Women’s Empowerment Story - 2
Ph. Nana Kofi Acquah/Oxfam

At the Garu market in Ghana, Felicia chooses the fabric to buy for the dress she would like to sew. Since she has a small vegetable garden, she manages to feed her family and sell the vegetables she grows. She is happy and proud of her independence thanks to Oxfam who has built a solar – powered pump to help families become more resilient. Women use the water from the pump to grow vegetables that they then sell, and Felicia’s smile of happiness is the concrete result of this project!

Guaranteeing women full rights and equal economic, cultural and social opportunities is essential for a more just and equitable society. Inequality and discrimination that often have the face of a woman everywhere in
the world.

LVRSustainable together with Oxfam Italia want to overcome inequality, against all discriminations.
Oxfam Italia works every day to guarantee women’s empowerment and access to sources of income.
