In honor of WorldPride 2021, LVR celebrates the LGBTQ+ voices and talents shaping style and fashion right now. In our second installment, we look at the relationship between love and fashion with two of our favorite couples: Mikko Puttonen & Lucas Ruska Martin and Aida Domenech & Alba Paul Ferrer. Read to get a peek at their individual takes on fashion, unravel their style evolutions as couples, and discover how they decided to style their significant other using their favorite style picks of the moment.

LVR: Let’s start from the beginning, how did you guys meet?
Mikko: On Instagram actually! Nearly four years ago I liked a few of Lucas’ pictures and some weeks later he sent me a message telling me that he was coming to London and that he needed a place to stay. I thought that was very bold and brave, not to mention he was really cute. Nevertheless, he ended up booking a hotel but after we met the first day we ended up meeting every single day. The day we met was the best thing that ever happened to me!
Lucas: Exactly, such a funny story! My friend, who was living in London by that time and where I had planned to stay, was out of town, and before booking a hotel I thought why not reach out to some people? That was when I also remembered that this boy Mikko from London liked some pictures so I just looked for his profile and messaged him, haha! We met and it just clicked, I would have never imagined but I honestly could not be happier!
LVR: How would you describe each other’s style from when you met versus today? Has your partner influenced the way you dress?
Mikko: Lucas has always had an incredible and unique style! When we met, he was often wearing a studded leather jacket, shiny patent leather pants, and a lot of chains. I think he has stayed very true to his own style but he is definitely wearing much more tailored clothes. One thing that never changed though is his signature hat! Sometimes I get asked if he also wears it in his sleep, haha.
Lucas has definitely influenced the way I dress. His great attitude of wearing whatever he wants inspires me every day.
LVR: How do you feel about sharing each other’s clothes? Do you have a favorite item from your partner’s wardrobe?
Mikko: I love it and we both share all of our clothes and shoes.
Lucas: It is the best thing! I remember the day we found out we even have the same shoe size. Also, I think it is a great way to buy more consciously and less since we always style pieces in a completely different way.
Mikko: My favorite item from Lucas’s wardrobe is a pair of wide-leg vintage jeans!
Lucas: My favorite item from Mikko’s wardrobe is definitely a black trench coat from an NYC-based brand called CAALO Studio.
LVR: Lastly, describe how and why you decided to style your partner for today’s couple edit on LVR?
Mikko: I wanted to choose a nice bag for Lucas as he always wears one. He even wears his Prada bag for a hiking trip in the forest. I chose the Balenciaga hourglass bag because of its unique shape and I knew it would look good on him. I styled it with a blue Burberry trench coat and check-patterned pants. Very chic but not so summer-appropriate for the heatwave in Berlin, sorry!
Lucas: For Mikko, I chose a pair of chunky Margiela boots because I knew that he already had an eye on them and I love to surprise him! Also, I of course want to borrow them. I styled the boots with some shorts by Valentino and a top by Sportmax, trying to think of a silhouette and way of styling that Mikko loves and I thought he would normally go for.

Alba Paul Ferrer & Aida Domenech
LVR: Let’s start from the beginning, how did you guys meet?
Aida: We met at a party in the summer of 2014.
Alba: It wasn’t love at first sight, but we bumped into each other a second time because we have a lot of mutual friends. On the second date, we felt something special.
LVR: How would you describe each other’s style from when you met versus today? Has your partner influenced the way you dress?
Aida: I used to be super casual, now I have the same style but with more fashion knowledge.
Alba: Before I met Aida, I’d never thought about my own style. Fashion isn’t my world. I mixed things without making sense, and I don’t have a lot of clothes; I have other priorities. Nowadays, I love my style. Aida has definitely been a good fashion influence in my life.
LVR: How do you feel about sharing each other’s clothes? Do you have a favorite item from your partner’s wardrobe? Do you ever mix anything the other is wearing?
Aida: We love sharing clothes, especially oversize items. I have Levi’s denim jacket she loves, and she has some Levi’s oversize trousers that I love!
Alba: Sometimes it can be a bit difficult because we aren’t the same size and don’t share the same style, but we love to mix and match oversize garments like jerseys, t-shirts, jackets, and trousers.
LVR: Lastly, describe how you shop for your partner on LVR?
Aida: I love the site; I can always find all the perfect items to mix with my favorite clothes. Perfect match!
Alba: We can find clothes that suit both of us, it’s a perfect destination where you can find special items for your wardrobe. I love it!
