Vans, the sports brand and voice for creative expression, is proud to launch a collaboration with one of the world’s most renown museums in the world of modern and contemporary art, The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). Both names are at a forefront for creativity and supporting individualism. With a mutual passion for inspiring individual expression globally, Vans and MoMA have joined forces and their talents to debut a series of special edition products this fall. The artists featured reflect the diversity of MoMA’s collection with artworks by Salvador Dalí, Vasily Kandinsky, Claude Monet, Edvard Munch, Jackson Pollock, Lybov Popova and Faith Ringgold.

In celebration of Kadinsky, the renown pioneer of abstract art. Kadinsky found emotion and life within color and shapes. Taking inspiration from, ‘Orange 1923’, this Vans’ Classic Slip-On celebrates this investigation into abstract forms and signs.

In celebration of Edvard Munch, the prolific Norvegian expressionist painter. His most influential piece of work is featured above, The Scream. Quickly becoming a cult icon, this piece reflects his views on the human condition.

Faith Ringold, the only artist in the collection to be currently alive, herself worked closely with the Vans and MoMa team for her part of the collaboration. The designs were reworked to showcase two of her feminist poster pieces, Woman Free Yourself and Freedom Woman Now .

Jackson Pollock’s One: Number 31 from 1950 takes over the Authentic. An ode to the abstract expressionism, his individualism and way of creating.

Taking over the Sk8-Hi model is Lyubov Popova’s sharp take on a reconstruction of her Untitled work from 1917. Popova’s work takes on a Cubist and Constructivist journey.
