Brave. Eclectic. Sometimes casual, sometimes formal and always elegant.
The range of expressions of designer duo Otto Drögsler and Jörg Ehrlich, together ODEEH, is notable; it is the result of the confrontation of two different personalities in hour long discussions and experiments at the sketch block. Since 2008, the two have been transforming their own idea of perfection into reality in Giebelstadt near Würzburg, Germany. After 25 years of friendship and countless years working at several other renowned labels, the pair founded their own brand.
LUISAVIAROMA discovered the particular magic of the ODEEH collections while visiting Berlin in June, a trip that marked the launch of a new collaboration with Der Berliner Mode Salon. The passion for innovation and the superior quality of the presented collections made the Salon an ideal partner for LUISAVIAROMA’s expansion of its varied designer offer. Der Berliner Mode Salon promotes awareness for fashion from Germany with shows, meetings and occasions for exchange illustrating the relevance of German designers as a cultural and economic asset.
Berlin is step-by-step playing a very important role in this international theater play, and we like this idea, we like a lot participating in this evolution.
It isn’t uncommon that perspectives might change over the course of the process, and the beginning may often look very different from the conclusion: this Spring/Summer, for instance, the designers have “started very straight and ended up very romantic”. Ehrlich states that what they like is “less streamlined than it would be if it came from only one idea” it’s “more complex”.
ODEEH’s fashion is manufactured in the now rare atelier tradition. Fine materials, created by the best Italian weavers and silk printers, are assembled by German artisans. It is the specialness, the creative liberty and the slowness of accurate sartorialism which delineate the luxury proposed by Ehrlich and Drögsler.
