Louisa Johnson

The 19 year-old-singer won The X-Factor UK in 2015. The only child from Essex was the youngest contestant to ever win the show. Her first single, “Forever Young”, made it into the top ten chart in the UK. Since then she has released other singles including “So Good”, “Best Behavior” and collaborated with Clean Bandit and Olly Murs. She is now preparing her first debut album which will include all of her singles.
LVR caught up with the singer in London, where she wore the LVR Edition 6 jacket and talked about fashion, X-Factor, her favorite songs and what’s coming next.

Describe your (fashion) style in three words:
Fun, Boho, Colorful

What do you like to wear when you perform?
Anything I feel comfortable in! I feel like the more comfy I am, the better I perform! But I love bright colors so I always like to make sure whatever I’m wearing is bright!

Who is your style icon?
I pick up different styles from different people I think, I’ve not really copied looks, I just pick what I like from each person and put it together. I love Bella Hadid’s style a lot though!

What do you like the most about the Angel Chen jacket?
The colors! As I said bright colors are my thing! It’s so out there and I love that! If you don’t fit in, you stand out, that’s what I like doing.

Rita Ora was your mentor on X-Factor, are you still in touch?
We are, she’s really great and doing so well at the moment. Her time with me on the show was precious, I’ll never forget that.

Who would you love to work with?
Eminem! I’ve loved him since I was a kid, but even if I only got the chance to write with him, that’d be a dream come true.

What’s the best advice you have ever gotten?
To be myself and stick with my gut instinct, it’s honestly helped me through a lot.

What advice would you give to young people who look up to you?
The exact same as the advice I got, be you! No one else can do it how you do it. But also stay headstrong and if you need your own time, have your own time and don’t make anybody make you feel bad about it! You’re human!

What do you want to do next?
I really want to get more into fashion. I love going crazy with style and trying new things, I signed with IMG models recently which is such an amazing opportunity for me, I’m so excited to kick things off with them!
