We recently caught up with Jeanette and Thora, the founders and creative directors of ROTATE to see how their quarantine is going. Many of us find ourselves scrolling through our photo albums as we day dream of past vacations and future ones to come. For this series we ask some of our favorite designers and fashionistas to share with us where they’d rather be, how they are spending their time, and what’s the first thing they’ll do when this ends.
Where are you currently?
Jeanette: We are mostly in our country house a bit north of the city. But the kids just returned back to school, so now the base will be in our apartment again.
Thora: I’m still at home. My son is 13 so he won’t be returning to school till after the summer..
Where would you rather be?
Jeanette: In the Maldives at Soneva Sushi. We were supposed to go, but maybe it will be in 2021 instead.. I just love that place so much. It’s so private!
Thora: I really just live in the now, and I’m so happy to be here at home with him. I do however have Sicily on my mind. I was finally gonna go there in April, I’ve never been there, but because of the situation it will have to wait.
What are you currently listening to?
Jeanette: Justin Bieber’s new album. I love all the songs and it has literally been on repeat everyday the last month.
Thora: Tony Montana
Top 10 quarantine essentials?
Thora: Phone, blanket, coffee, computer, scented candles, casual home wear and dresses for evenings and of course my home.
Jeanette:
What’s the first thing you’ll do when this passes?
Jeanette: I will do the selfcare I haven’t been able to do myself. The first thing will be visiting my nail lady to get my nails fixed with shellac. My nails are right now 10 different lengths, they really don’t last long without a touchup.

What are your favorite pieces from your latest collection? How would you style your favorite pieces?
Jeanette: So many, difficult to choose from your babies. But for the Spring I really love Heather.

What was the inspiration for your new pieces?
Jeanette &Thora: Show girls! This collection is an ode to all the women who go out there and perform on stage. We wanted to create eye catching styles in beautiful fabrics with sequins, shimmer and metallics to bring out the inner showgirl in all of us.
How will you be different after this experience? Is there anything you realized you took for granted? How are you spending your quarantine?
Thora: I’ve never taken anything for granted, but I will be more selective with my travels. Especially when I go without my son.
Jeanette: I have really seen this as a needed break for people – and the whole world. I think everything went too fast In general. Besides all the heartbreaking and terrible losses, this has really been a period for people to change their priorities and to be creative in new ways of working. For me not traveling has taken off the stress that I felt every time I had to leave my boys. It’s been crazy with home teaching while working but I have also loved every second. Being with my family full time and I miss having them around me already. I have been cooking and baking A LOT, and started to run, both something I will try and continue with.
