The sea of Sanremo lights up with music and emotions with the Costa Toscana’s Music Cruise, which hosted an exclusive performance by Planet Funk on Saturday, Feb. 15th. The Costa Crociere ship, with an itinerary between Barcelona, Marseille and Civitavecchia, once again dropped anchor in front of the city of flowers, connecting live with the Ariston Theater to celebrate the final of the most anticipated musical event of the year.
For the occasion, the ship was transformed into an open-air club, with a striking stage suspended over the sea that served as a backdrop for the unmistakable sound of Planet Funk. The Italian band, an icon of the international electro-dance scene, brought its unmistakable mix of energy and experimentation to the stage, giving the audience an unforgettable live show.
Just a week before the release of the new single Nights in White Satin, a track that marks the return of Italy’s most international and long-running collective, with a career spanning more than 25 years, and timeless hits such as Chase The Sun and Inside All The People, Planet Funk dominated the ship’s futuristic stage– a three-level structure designed to immerse guests in an unprecedented sound and visual experience.
Making the performance even more iconic were the band’s looks curated by LuisaViaRoma, who infused the outfits with timeless style and rock soul perfectly in tune with the avant-garde spirit of the event.
It’s not just about fashion, it’s about personality. A balance between elegance and rebellious spirit, between confidence and nonchalance.
Black, dark gray, and touches of white—a minimal yet impactful palette for an outfit with character. Clean lines, sharp details, and an attitude that defies fleeting trends. Because true style doesn’t fade with time; it transcends it.
On stage, each member of Planet Funk embraced a distinct yet cohesive aesthetic: Gigi Canu opted for tailored Kenzo trousers, while Marco Baroni paired a sleek Tom Ford black shirt with Dunst trousers. Alex Neri made a statement with a Dries Van Noten black blazer over an oversized white Maison Margiela shirt, completed by an essential touch of timeless class—black loafers. Alex Uhlmann kept it refined with a Jil Sander shirt. In contrast, Dan Black, the band’s vocalist, introduced a hint of transparency with a white Dries Van Noten shirt, layered under an asymmetrical deconstructed Ann Demeulemeester blazer.
A perfect combination of music and fashion, for a night that made the sea of Sanremo vibrate to the rhythm of the best Italian electronic band.

The multi-platinum collective, formed by Alex Neri (DJ, keyboard, synthesizer, sampler), Marco Baroni (keyboard, piano, synthesizer, programming), Domenico “GG” Canu (guitar) joined by the voices and signatures of Alex Uhlmann (vocals and guitar) and Dan Black (vocals), has a vast listening audience ranging from the United States to Australia via Britain, Germany, Spain, Ireland, the Netherlands, Canada, Argentina, South Africa, Brazil, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, New Zealand, Turkey and France.
