Not Your Grandmother’s Jewelry. Complex designs for a new generation.
Fashion has always been at the forefront for Delfina Delettrez Fendi. A fourth-generation member of one of fashion’s most famous families, the 30-year old grew up surrounded by creative talent. Her deep appreciation for design and love of stone, led to launch of her eponymous jewelry line in 2007. Delfina decided to drop her last name from the collection, determined to make her own mark on the industry. Over the past decade, she has managed to keep the focus firmly on her collection: a hyper-modern selection of jewelry hand-made in Rome.
The broad range of materials and semi-precious stones featured, as well as the designer’s use of figurative surrealism and natural iconography have given her collections a distinct aesthetic. The look and feel of every piece is very authentic to Delfina, and is the product of classical goldsmith techniques and innovative contemporary materials.
The Mono-earring, a signature style that features heavily throughout the many different collections, is the piece that put the young brand and its namesake designer on the map. The trademark design works around the concept of a ‘phantom setting,’ a technique the designer has gravitated towards over the past few seasons. Delfina has been able to explore a more conceptual sense of surreal by subtracting elements to create the illusion that the fine jewels and stone are floating or suspended in thin air.
Agate and Chalcedony stones feature predominantly for Spring Summer 2017, as well as sapphires, emeralds, multicolor topazes and diamonds. The understated settings present the precious stones and jewels as the focal point, resulting in an expertly balanced design that calls attention to itself without being overwhelming. The true beauty of Delfina Delettrez is that the selection really does cater to a range of different styles. For those looking for a timeless piece, the elegant drop chain necklaces and Earclipse selection are ideal, whereas the more colorful and ironic styles are perfect those who are looking for something bolder.
