Benjamin Mascolo
You started out as a guitarist, but were always interested in singing. How did you overcome the difficulty of putting yourself in front of the microphone?
It was a combination of factors, but definitely from my experience on stage over the years I’ve learned that whatever you want to do, big or small, you need some “nerve” and to believe in it first and foremost yourself before everyone else. Not always those around you will understand your vision, so your perseverance and determination can’t depend on the approval of outside people.
You collaborated with LVR and adidas Originals for the reboot of the Forum 84 sneakers, a sneaker linked to the values of “personal expression” and “creativity”. How important are these values for you and why?
Personal expression and creativity are two fundamental elements in the career of an artist and in everyone’s life. They allow you to “be yourself” and enhance your uniqueness, we are not made to stay in a box.
Is there anything that particularly attracts you to fashion?
In the world of fashion I admire the ability to dare. Throughout history it has helped overcome limits and break down walls in our society, starting real revolutions.
Jenny De Nucci
You came from the province and now you are known throughout Italy, how did you live this change in popularity?
I’ve always lived it very quietly, I’ll tell you the truth. The strangest feeling is when you have the awareness that you are entering
in the homes of all Italy with a TV series or a film.
You collaborated with adidas Originals for the reboot of the Forum 84. What was it like as an experience?
For me, freedom of expression is bread and butter, and I find it absurd that for some people it is still taboo. It just should be. The
creativity is what holds the world together. I need to be stimulated mentally and creatively all the time, it’s almost an internal necessity for me.
I like to create and surround myself with people who create.
Is there anything that particularly attracts you to fashion?
Fashion has always fascinated me a lot, ever since I was little. I remember at the newsstand they used to sell these little models where my mom would buy one every week because I would finish them immediately. I think it’s a really interesting world, I’d like to study it maybe for a role.
