Phil Oh’s Guide to PFW - Phil-Oh-header

Experience the city with fashion week veteran and photographer Street Peeper.

Paris Fashion Week is… the last stop in a long, but exciting fashion month. No matter how exhausted I am, Paris always brings a jolt of energy..

Fashion Week Survival Tip?
8 hours of sleep a day, which means either skipping the parties, or missing the early morning shows. Whoops.

Which shoes will you be living in this fashion week?
Nike sneakers. Flyknits or Roshe Runs. They’re comfortable and light enough to pack a bunch of colorways in my suitcase

Do you have any fashion week favorites?
Susie Bubble for her ability to mix and match colors and textures. Ursina Gysi who elevates streetwear, and makes high fashion look like it’s part of her everyday outfit (that’s a good thing!) Ada Kokosar who somehow looks cool and sexy in everything she wears.

What pieces will everyone be wearing during fashion week this season?
Voluminous sleeves, ruffles, and anything Gucci!

The last song I shazzamed during a show was… Kenzo SS16. It turns out it was a commissioned piece by Jason Pierce of Spiritualized, which happens to be one of my favorite bands. Also, the classic house music mix at Kenzo Resort 2017 – I grew up in Chicago, so house music is in my blood.

Snapchat or Instagram? Both/Neither and Why?
I can’t seem to figure out Snapchat, so I guess Instagram. I think I’m just too old for Snapchat….

What is the key to a killer outfit?
Knowing which trends are right for you, and which ones don’t match your personality!

Can you describe your ideal subject? What catches you eye each season?
I love people who are able to mix current season fashion, with random pieces of vintage, streetwear, or designer favorites from seasons past.

SNAPWORTHY STYLES

Phil Oh’s Guide to PFW - verjus

“I like Verjus, a cozy wine bar just off of Palais Royal. It has a nice wine list and small plates to share at the bar. It’s not at all scene’y, but I inevitably run into groups of low-key fashion people there.”

Phil Oh’s Guide to PFW - le-verre-vole

“It’s well known to food and wine lovers, but I never see fashion people at Le Verre Volé in the 11th arrondissement. The food is excellent, they have a great natural wine list, and they’re pretty accustomed to non French speakers, which is always a plus.”
