On June 14th LuisaViaRoma, along with British Vogue and Edward Enninful OBE, presented “Runway Icons”, a special open-air catwalk show at the magical Piazzale Michelangelo perched on a hill overlooking Florence.
The much-anticipated event took over 1500 attendees on a captivating journey through the evolution of global fashion and style, spanning across the decades. Notable guests included Andrea Panconesi, Vanessa Kingori OBE, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Moses Sumney, Tina Kunakey, Julia Fox, Lucien Laviscount, Winnie Harlow, Remo Ruffini, Nadia Lee Cohen, Mahmood, Marracash, Francesca Ragazzi, Maximilian Davis, Charithra Chandran, Saffron Hocking, Liam Payne, Sui He, Jessica Jung, Natasha Poonawalla among many others.
Showcasing the influence of different eras and cultural movements, the show became a vivid tapestry of sartorial expression. More than fifty esteemed international designers including Moncler, Alexander McQueen, Alexandre Vauthier, Mugler, Ferragamo, Magda Butrym, Jimmy Choo, Bottega Veneta, Dolce & Gabbana and more, each possessing a unique creative vision, contributed to this remarkable spectacle.
The event brought together the industry’s top talent, including iconic figures like Natalia Vodianova, Imaan Hammam, Mariacarla Boscono, Vittoria Ceretti, Eva Herzigova, Irina Shayk, Paloma Elsesser, Ashley Graham, Gottmik, Bianca Balti, Stella Maxwell, Maye Musk, Soo Joo Park, Pat Cleveland, Jill Kortlee, Mona Tougaard, Neelam Gill, Jourdan Dunn and Munroe Bergdorf, who graced the runway with their incomparable presence.
The magic of the night rang out in the city as Andrea Bocelli opened the evening with an exclusive live performance, followed by over seventy – refreshingly diverse – models gliding down the runway bringing the iconic designs to life. The guests continued to watch as models and friends of LuisaViaRoma and British Vogue took to the runway in the historical surroundings, soundtracked by an original composition by Hale Zero.
The show was followed by a star-studded private dinner, and as the night progressed, the festivities continued at an unforgettable after-party hosted in partnership with Ray-Ban. The air pulsated with music, laughter, and the energy of celebration. Celebrities, fashion luminaries, and influencers mingled in a vibrant setting, sharing stories, creating connections, and embracing the magic that unfolded throughout the evening.
