Fashion and music are two worlds that collide brilliantly. They both possess the rare power of being able to transport you to another moment, to make you feel something. They capture the art of self expression. Fashion and music continually inspire one another, from the Beatles to Nirvana, musicians have always impacted the fashion industry and its designers. Festival season is upon us, and what you wear should be a form of self expression, and reflect the atmosphere of each festival scene. Get ready to fit the look for every music party out there.

Festival Bound: The Style Guide - coachella

Coachella. All one needs to hear is the name. This star studded, bohemian event is a California dream. Every year, thousands head over to Palm Springs to dance to some of the biggest music acts. A runway show of sorts, the fashion crowd is always ready for Instagram shots at every moment. The glamorous hippie vibe is flowing through the air, which means you can make a fashion statement in free-spirit inspired styles.

Festival Bound: The Style Guide - glastonbury

Rain or shine Glastonbury is one of the most anticipated festivals. The spirit is quintessentially British. A splash of eccentric charm, wellies, and rock-n-roll vibes. From Kate Moss to Alexa Chung, every who’s who in the English style scene is there to party and to be seen. Arm yourself fashionably with a fresh raincoat, rain boots, cut-offs and cat eye sunnies. Forget the norm, this is the party to dance in puddles and give off some major attitude.

Festival Bound: The Style Guide - primavera

Soak up the Barcelona sunshine and feel the sound streaming through the air. An electronic prism of indie, alt rock, techno and underground house commences at Primavera Sound. The cool crowd from all over Europe wouldn’t miss it for the world. From the fashion loved DJ turned designer, Peggy Gou, Nas, to Tame Impala the crowd is as diverse as the trendy looks sure to show up. The mood is super European yet urban and the wardrobe has to match. Go for sporty sleek, edgy sneakers, streamlined tops and dresses and anything that’s neon.

Festival Bound: The Style Guide - burningman

Enter into the post-apocalyptic world of Burning Man. The festival is more of an immersive art experience than a music festival. A dystopian art exhibit that comes alive in the middle of the desert. Festival goers focus on the spiritual and artistic meaning of Burning Man.  The crowd includes artists, musicians, the silicon valley crowd, and of recently fashion influencers looking for a different kind of escape. There’s no exact dress trait for this wildcard fest. Looks in the past have included: sci-fi inspired outfits, anything yee-haw inspired, to simply bikinis and plaid. This is the chance to play dress up and let your imagination go wild!

Festival Bound: The Style Guide - sziget

One of the most colorful and fun filled festivals out there, Sziget also goes by the “Island of Freedom”. It’s all about art, inspiration and love here. Held on an island in Budapest on the Danube River, the festival shows an eclectic mix of artists spanning many different genres. It’s bigger compared to other festivals, this is a week long party with after parties. For adrenaline loving goers – there’s even a massive bungee jump involved. Have fun with your style here, wear bright colors, glitter anything that tickles your fancy!
