Taschen

Taschen, the book publisher from Germany, was founded in 1980 by Benedikt Taschen in Cologne. It all began as Taschen Comics, in which the founder published his great collection of comics. Later, he began publishing other conventional reprints related to art, artistic photography, design, painting, fashion, history, advertising, cinema, and architecture. Today, Taschen has an important role publishing books related to more controversial topics. It has made less visible themes and manifestations accessible to the greater public and larger book circuits. Those themes include queer art, images of vintage eroticism, fetishist depictions, pornography, and adult magazines. The house strives to publish beautifully designed, innovative, affordable, and artistic books for an international audience.
