Salomon's Climb Towards XT Quest 2 Advanced

Beginning in the high mountains, more precisely in Annecy in Haute Savoie, the history of Salomon has always been characterized by an unstoppable ascension towards the summit of innovation. The French brand, born in 1947 from the vision of Georges Salomon, has managed to establish itself over the years as a reference point in the world of ski boots, and after, at the beginning of the 2000s, also in the production of sports shoes dedicated to trail running. Successful in both areas, today we can define Salomon as a hybrid brand, able to unite under its sphere both regular mountain visitors and a new generation of customers driven by a passion for technical clothing and fascinated by Gorpcore.

The reason behind the descent to the city streets for Salomon, which until a few years ago used to walk the mountain trails passing from refuge to refuge, is due to the incumbency of this new aesthetic, capable of highlighting the technicalities and intrinsic functionality of a product. This has led to a new audience, looking for something more than just a nice jacket, approaching fashion of high altitude. Going along with this meeting point, Salomon decided to draw on its vast archive to offer the public other silhouettes, such as the brand new XT Quest 2 Advanced, that could follow and build on the success of trailblazing models like the XT-6 Advanced.

Salomon's Climb Towards XT Quest 2 Advanced

Differently from all its competitors in the streetstyle field, Salomon sneakers have managed to carve out their own space, certainly thanks to collaborations (remember the recent CSWP Shelter made with Carhartt), and especially thanks to a design process which balances between the nostalgic and the modern. Indulging customers by offering them new products with a retro vibe turned out to be the key to the success of the French brand that, after experimenting with this strategy by reintroducing the ACS Pro Advanced, decided to open the doors to the Salomon XT Quest 2 Advanced.

With a hybrid design that pays homage to the past while looking to the future, the Salomon XT Quest 2 Advanced features the aesthetic of early 2000s hiking shoes elevated by the implementation of modern technologies. The nubuk layers that make up the silhouette have been combined with elements that highlight the technological evolution of the brand, which is why, starting from the outsole, we immediately notice that a Contagrip® rubber blend has been used, capable of offering traction and resistance to the fit. Turning instead to the midsole, Salomon has decided to integrate the 4D Advanced Chassis™ technology, to allow a safe and stable walk on all types of terrain.

By establishing a dialogue between the past, represented by the design, and the future, which is part of the technological compartment of the shoe, Salomon has been able to launch a shoe whose hybrid essence will allow it to become a classic from its launch date on March 1st.
