The Collaboration as curated by Cesare Cunaccia

The architect Claudio Nardi is responsible for the stylistic and spatial evolution of the LVR flagship store starting from the early 80s up to the current concept of a single large stage, in which livable and transformable transparencies are the protagonists.

“An Aerial-underwater world”, says Nardi, “is a stage in this part of the part of the enthralling journey woven from the intuitions of Andrea Panconesi and his family, which I undertook in the legendary ’80s.Embodies the idea of a lush, fluid and positive world, now veiled by transparencies, no tangible, with backdrops of light or deep colors, the double concert. From
initial project in 2008, multiple and continuous changes of scene characterize the last decade of the LVR store. A space born to be changeable, moldable and modifiable as the stage of a theater. In this last occasion I collaborated with Alessandra Santini, founder and creative director at FluidaDesign, who gave lightness and depth to the theme of transparencies and the intimate relationship between nature and artifice. A relationship that is established between the geometric and abstract space and a nature made conceptual and metaphysical.”

Alessandra Santini confirms how the company itself wanted to embrace the essence of a certain common historical moment. “The message that we intended to convey speaks of balance, harmony and essential vitality. The installation, gathered in the casket of Plexiglas and brass arches designed by Claudio Nardi, narrates the suspended condition that characterized this period, transforming it into a positive, calm and reassuring image.
The conical structures are sometimes cyclones, then they become nests and alcoves, vast and ethereal. The main structure consists of plant fiber obtained from tree trunks, with which we have formed clouds, cyclonic cumulus and corals. Very present the amaranth, edible plant, both stabilized and dried. The colors are those of natural earths: burnt browns, sand and dove grey, butter whites, with the addition of pigments in pastel tones combined with chalk. A wild and delicate approach at the same time. Opposing elements that merge, the abysses and the celestial vaults superimposed. A hymn to the human spirit and its eternal rebirth.”

The work was entrusted to Florentine contractor Romano Zenoni, who has worked with LVR since 1994. The walls were treated with lime and plaster, waxed in such a way as to shade them and make them deep through material veils of vintage flavor. The watery sense of transparency increased by applying films of light and distilled colors, the same ones used for eyeglass lenses.
