The influential Asia-based designer, entrepreneur and YUN YUN SUN Creative Director, Aimee Sun and LuisaViaRoma team up once again to ensure you stop the show with just one detail every time you feel like it.
In honor of the long-awaited collab we’ve sat down with Aimee to catch up on her life and learn more about the collection.

I love pieces that are easy and effortless but that look really pulled together and elevated when styled together. I wanted this collection to evoke a sense of joy and glamor and drew inspiration from the overall environment I was surrounding myself with. I wanted the pieces to stand out from the crowds, even if you’re in a t-shirt and jeans.

Last time we sat down with you was over 3 years ago for our first collaboration, as all this time has passed, how would you say your personal style has evolved?
It’s been a minute huh? The world sure went through a lot in the last 3 years! As for my personal style, I feel like I’m quite consistent when it comes to that– I love pieces that are easy and effortless, as I am always on the go, but that look really pulled together and elevated when styled together.
Do you think this change is reflected in this collection?
This collection is more of a reflection of how I want my customers to feel after having
been through so much in the last 3 years – I wanted to evoke a sense of joy and glamor. I wanted the pieces to stand out at parties even if you’re just wearing jeans and a t-shirt. They are supposed to be conversation pieces and can help liven up a room or their personal collection.
How would you describe the Yun Yun Sun consumer? Who do you envision them to be?
They are fun and fearless. Someone who loves to be around energetic people and gives off great vibes. Someone whose style is all about what makes them feel good while having fun.
With everything that has happened in these years, including the infamous pandemic, do you think the consumer preferences have changed? Are they looking for more glamor?
I definitely think that we are back to pre-pandemic levels of going out – whether that’d be a nice dinner out, drinks with friends, special occasions, or late-night parties – people are excited to finally feel back to normal again, thus a desire to consume more “going- out” looks. Ranging from statement jewelry, glamourous gowns/dresses or sparkly shoes/accessories.
You have previously said that your collections are inspired by your travels. When looking at this capsule, what served as the main source of inspiration? Are there specific places or events that come to mind?
Travel was unfortunately limited for me this past year, so for this capsule I drew
inspiration from the overall environment I was surrounding myself with. Like I
mentioned, it really came down to this feeling of wanting to evoke a sense of joy into the world. I wanted to create pieces that are fun and that standout from the crowd. I
wanted to bring a sense of glamor, if not right in the moment but at least something or someplace to look forward to.
With running your own business, designing and upholding such great social media presence and style influence, we can only imagine how busy your life can get. Share with us the secret of how you manage to accomplish it all and keep your life in balance?
I’m quite type A so managing a schedule is a must in my life both
personally and professionally. I also have an amazing team whom I feel so lucky I get to work every day – they make it all look so easy!
Are there other areas of the industry you would like to venture out in? What are your plans for the foreseeable future?
Not at the moment, I’m quite happy and very grateful that I get to do what I love every day.
