LVRSustainable & Oxfam Italy for Give Water, Sustain Women: The Initiative’s Results and Achievements

The last in a series of stories and the results the initiative accomplished through the collaboration

LVRSustainable shares one of the stories from the initiative with Oxfam Italy and shares the results of the campaign.

Titled,  “Give water, Sustain Women, the campaign worked to increase awareness on issues faced by women worldwide and the lack of clean water and its effects on families in different regions.

From November 2021 to January 2022, LuisaViaRoma supported Oxfam’s work by guaranteeing 500 liters of water, sufficient for the needs of a woman and her family to drink, wash and cook with for a week.

Every day, it takes 200 million hours for women around the world to get clean water.

The project aimed to bring clean water to families in need. Institutionally, providing clean water for families is a women’s role in many cultures. By providing clean water, these women can spend time on their education and goals.

A special thank you from LVRSustainable and Oxfam Italy

Our initiative resulted in life-changing achievements for women and their families worldwide, ensuring clean water, sanitation and time for women to dedicate to their education and life goals.

480 filtration tanks sufficient to guarantee safe water for three months for at least

4,800 women and their families to drink, wash, and cook safely!

Safe, clean and drinkable: water that is synonymous with life, growth and the future. Through this campaign, water has become a symbol of rebirth and emancipation for the women of the world who spend precious time every day obtaining and managing water- time that detracts from education, paid work and training opportunities.

The last in the series tells the story of Nurses from the Somertone clinic in Zimbabwe and how for the first time their clinic finally has water thanks to the water pump installed by Oxfam.

Nurses from Somertone clinic collect water from a local pump outside the clinic in Masvingo District, Zimbabwe. The pump provides a very limited daily supply of water but thanks to Oxfam’s Solar piped water system the clinic now for the first time will have access to clean safe running water.
